The first company I co-founded through FastIgnite, Better Advertising, launched a few weeks ago. The entire process took only a few months. Read more on my blog.

I will be leading an unPanel (like unConference but smaller) at Xconomy’s Cloud3 Forum. Great lineup of speakers and the audience will be full of pundits (trust me, see the invite list) so the conversation is guaranteed to be both interesting and educational. This isn’t yet another “intro to cloud” or “cloud 101″. Expect a much deeper and more engaging and interactive forum. CloudCamp comes right after. Register here.

Sim Simeonov joined the advisory board of DubMeNow, a startup tackling the challenge of keeping contact information organized across devices.
The proliferation of social media and mobile devices has made it more difficult for everyone to manage contact information and initiate conversations using the right channels. I have many contacts and experienced this problem every day. DUB’s unique technology makes the problem go away. I look forward to working with Manoj and the company to help DUB change the way we think about exchanging contact information.

It’s been a busy summer. FastIgnite is helping start a couple of new companies. Lots of travel to NYC — send an email or DM me at @simeons if you’d like to meet up.
I’ll be at OMMA Behavioral in SF on July 30. There are some big changes afoot in the advertising space driven by the move to exchanges, by advertisers asserting more control over data and by the evolving compliance landscape with respect to online behavioral advertising (OBA), which, to mix metaphors, is just the tip of the iceberg of that can of worms.
Last but not least, very excited that Thing Labs shipped the new, new thing–Brizzly. I can’t stop using it.

One of our companies–Tollbit–recently launched its web site. Check it out but don’t expect any secrets revealed: Tollbit is still in stealth mode.
At the 10th Nantucket Conference, Sim and Jana Eggers, CEO of Spreadshirt, will lead a conversation on new strategies for customer acquisition at the Entrepreneurs’ Lunch (Friday @ noon). There is limited space in the room so post a comment here, RSVP to the conference organizers or sign up on site when you arrive. If you haven’t signed up for the Nantucket Conference yet, we’re sorry but the event is sold out and running a good-sized waiting list.
