Simeon Simeonov is a serial entrepreneur and investor. He is the founding CTO of Swoop, a startup that brings the power of search advertising to content. Sim invests in passionate entrepreneurs through FastIgnite and helps them build great companies. Sim was the founding CTO at Evidon, the online advertising industry's first privacy compliance platform, and Thing Labs, a social media startup acquired by AOL. Sim used to be executive in residence at General Catalyst Partners and technology partner at Polaris Venture Partners. He invested in the online, enterprise and mobile sectors and helped start five companies the firms invested in, two of which have already been acquired. Before his days as an investor, Sim was vice president of emerging technologies and chief architect at Macromedia (now Adobe). Earlier, he was a founding member and chief architect at Allaire, one of the first Internet platform companies whose flagship product, ColdFusion, ran thousands of sites such as Priceline and MySpace.
Sim has a master's degree in computer science from Boston University and bachelor degrees in computer science, economics and mathematics from Macalester College. He was named one of MIT Technology Review's top young innovators.
